With its 14 E-3A aircraft, our organization plays a critical role in NATO and our mission is to deliver ready, responsive Airborne Early Warning, Battle Management, and Command and Control capability to operational commanders in support of NAC-approved tasks.

 

The Human Resources Management Division is responsible for the provision of consistent, effective, and efficient Manpower planning, Civilian and Military Personnel management, and Talent Management, including the management of the NAEW&CF external training for military and civilian personnel, by developing and implementing policies, programs, and services that support the goals set by the NAEW&CF Commander and/or COS. The Division manages the Central Processing Centre of the NAEW&CF and advises on and promotes NATO’s policies on gender, diversity and inclusion.

 

The Civilian Human Resources Management Branch provides and executes all aspects of Human Resources Management for civilian personnel employed by NAEW&CF.

 

The incumbent is responsible for general HR / administrative support for NATO International Civilian (NIC) and Local Wage Rate (LWR) related HR duties and Branch support including office management.

THE ROLE

 

The incumbent’s duties are:

 

  • Executes administrative HR functions, logistical support, and provides information for all assigned civilian personnel;
  • Provides in and out- processing services for all assigned civilians;
  • Provides established administrative support for retired staff;
  • Provides support to the whole Civilian Human Resources Management Branch (Life-Cycle Management, Payroll and Recruitment) with workflow control, office management, secretarial assistance and other, in nature standard and/or ad-hoc tasks or projects as required;
  • Prepares written responses to queries concerning HR related issues;
  • Applies civilian personnel policies and directives in relation to all aspects of Employee Relations as directed;
  • Provides general information to line supervisors, when directed;
  • Updates several human resources management databases;
  • Undertakes researches on a range of HR related issues and assists in the preparation of notes/reports.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

  • Experience in Personnel Administration;
  • Basic experience in the execution of Personnel Regulations;
  • Secondary education and basic training in human resources management, business administration, law, social sciences, or related field, public administration or related discipline for specific task related skills, with 2 years` experience;
  • Adequate level of Automated Data Processing (ADP) systems is essential; 
  • The work, both oral and written, in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English. Consequently, adequate English proficiency level is required.

 

 

THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS AN ADVANTAGE

 

  • Very good typing skills;
  • Professional experience in a clerical/administrative role in an office setting;
  • Professional experience in office/general administration practices;
  • Experience in Human Resources Management (e.g.: Life-Cycle Management, Recruiting & Talent Management, Budget & Payroll, Time and Attendance Management, Performance Management, Deployments, Training, Contract Administration, Pension) ideally in an international context;
  • Higher secondary education and intermediate vocational training in personnel management or office administration;
  • Knowledge of Host Nation Language would be considered as an advantage;
  • Experience in a military Headquarters / international organization.

CONTRACT

 

 

Serving civilian members of NATO will be offered a contract in accordance with the NATO Civilian Personnel Regulations.

 

Newly recruited staff will be initially offered a definite duration contract of three years. Thereafter, an indefinite duration contract might be offered.

 

 

SALARY

 

 

Salary value indicated in this vacancy notice is based on NATO`s Single Salary Spine scale.
