Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading cause of death and disability in the world, and they are becoming increasingly common in children and adolescents. In this study, a comprehensive and scalable pediatric NCD service delivery model will be developed at primary health care systems for children and adolescents in Bangladesh in consensus with pediatric NCD experts and other relevant stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
The Statistical Officer will report to Research Investigator and will be responsible to maintain and organize strong statistical data management system; develop analytical plan for different study design, provide training to field staff on survey questionnaire, data management and quality control of data, process routine statistical data and data management work of secondary data analysis and facility survey; cluster data analysis; supervise data management activities; maintain security of database with the objective of supporting the PI in writing scientific report and manuscripts within the extent of Centre’s guidelines.
He/she will be responsible to:
- Organize and plan routine statistical data processing and data management work;
- Maintain security of database; Analyze quantitative data using univariate and multivariate techniques;
- Monitor and evaluate the interventions; Identify and apply appropriate sampling scheme and study design for surveys and interventions respectively;
- Preparing of coding instructions;
- Development of cleaned and matched data files and consistency check according to supervisor’s instruction and coordinate with data management and scientific staffs in order to ensure smooth data processing and management for further research;
- Control the process for ensuring good quality of data collection tool and devices;
- Provide all sorts of technical support to data collectors;
- Develop program error detecting tools for identifying missing/wrong data and devising appropriate solutions as part of continuous effort in order to establish a strong data management system;
- Provide necessary support to the data management team for any inconsistency in records;
- Prepare different types of report, power point presentation, and documentation in order to develop a high-quality reporting system;
- Analyse and conduct statistical / mathematical modeling on the research data;
- Support PI in writing manuscript;
- Resolve queries and issues related to statistical analysis in order to prepare high quality manuscripts and reports by the research team;
- Develop research methods and tools in consultation with the PI;
- Guide Data Management Team to keep and improve the performance of the team; Train data collection team on newly developed data collection tools; Organize review meetings in order to maintain perfect data-flow system.
Required qualification and experience:
- Masters in Statistics or Applied Statistics or Biostatistics; Masters in Public Health will be preferable;
- 3 years of experience in analyzing health data including non-communicable diseases ;
- Experience in clinical trial, framework analysis, process evaluation will be an added advantage;
- Experience in Statistical programming languages including STATA/R; Database management in REDCap will be an added advantage.
Location: Dhaka
Contract Type and duration:
- CSA basis for 3 (three) months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Tk. 59,900/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
