JOB DETAIL

Org. Setting and Reporting

The incumbent is responsible to the Senior Logistics Officer.

Responsibilities

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate:

• Receives, inspects and issues the construction materials that are entering into Gaza through Kerem Shalom based on the daily coordination requirements;
• Reports any discrepancies between the load notes and the cargo to the Project coordinator and convoy if required the confiscated extra materials to Karni or Rafah warehouses.
• Ensures the implementation of daily reconstruction team operations and maintain a reception and issuance tracker related to the construction materials. Report on daily basis to the reconstruction team based in Gaza Field Office.
• Convoys the trucks loaded with construction materials to the construction sites of the concrete factories. Undertakes random checks at the construction sites and factories to monitor the good handling and usage construction materials.
• Report any attempts from the contractor/ director of factories to misuse/misappropriate the construction materials by checking/verifying that the available stocks in situ and the quality of materials correspond to what was initially issued the day before.
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Education

Two years diploma in business and office practice, business administration, public administration, commerce, public works or related field. (civil engineering is considered as a related field)

Work Experience

It is required to have at least 4 years of administrative work, preferably related in supply chain, business administration or public works operations. Technical background being an asset.

Languages

Good command of written and spoken English.

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Special Notice

Contract Type & Duration:
Limited Duration Contract, 6 Months, renewable (depending on the performance and the funding availability)

Conditions of service:
• The monthly basic salary shall be 980.90 US$ at Band C.
• Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.

An existing LDC member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current status to accept the new LDC appointment.

Desirable Qualifications:
Advanced training course in business, public works or supply chains and office practice.
