The Efficacy and Demonstration of IntraVenous iron for anaemia in pregnancy (EDIVA) project will develop a novel and innovative approach to rapidly cure moderate-to-severe antenatal anaemia, thereby improving crucial maternal and neonatal outcomes. The project will also give an insight into the prevalence of anaemia during pregnancy and the contribution of iron deficiency to this problem.

Position Description:

The Study Nurse will report to the Senior Research Investigator and will be responsible for regular study visits as well as different sample collections from study participants and their children to attain study objectives within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values. The specific areas of responsibilities include –

• Perform study visits of participants and their children in a team as per schedule;

• Maintain records of all research-related data in the appropriate form;

• Coordinate with Physicians/Investigators in research-related activities, including sample collection and sending to laboratory;

• Maintain log book of study subjects, and samples & maintain proper chart;
• Ensure infection control practice and the security with Health & Safety measures;
• Ensure patient record confidentiality, and practice best Nursing Ethics and Code of Conduct.

Required qualification and experience:

• Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery/BSc in Nursing/Diploma in Midwifery with valid registration from the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
• 1 year of working experience in a clinical trial
• Preference will be given who have worked with child development tool, and placental sample collection.

Location: Rupganj and Sonargaon upazila, Narayanganj.

Number of Positions: 05

Contract Type and duration:

• Short Term Contractual Service Agreement basis; duration will be 3 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 34,180/-(consolidated) per month inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen. Transport and Daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
