Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for an Supply Chain Assistant to join our team in Kyiv.
About the job
The Supply Chain Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of DRC’s supply chain functions within Ukraine. This position is responsible for overseeing procurement and general logistics support, contributing to the successful implementation of DRC’s programs in the country.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
- Assist in implementing procurement processes, ensuring adherence to DRC Operations Handbook and relevant guidelines.
- Track all orders from planning and requests through to final receipt.
- Prepare necessary documentation for the procurement of goods and services.
- Participate in the evaluation of bids and proposals, ensuring that the bids evaluation report, technical evaluations, negotiation minutes, and negotiated contracts contain all relevant facts and information to support the recommendations made.
- Engage in joint verification of procured goods and equipment to confirm compliance with technical specifications and quantities.
- Facilitate the preparation and processing of procurement documentation.
- Support the maintenance of a comprehensive procurement database for goods and services.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Officer and Supply Chain Team Leader to ensure timely and accurate purchase orders and deliveries.
- Accurately apply ERP supply chain processes.
- Assist in preparing logistics-related reports, including weekly and monthly status updates.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate records of procurement and logistics activities.
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have relevant experince and a strong understanding of procurement rules and logistics. Moreover, we also expect the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of one year of proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics roles, preferably within a humanitarian or development organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain software.
- Upper intermediate level in English.
