Mission and objectives

UN Women Uzbekistan is working to advance Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in the country.

Context

These tasks accelerate the processes and procedures of programme development based on evidence based analysis on GEWE in the country. The candidate will gain the experience of taking active roles during establishment of UN Women Uzbekistan office and contribute to the development of the very first Country Gender Equality Profile as well as the Strategic Note starting from 2 December 2024 on.

Task Description

– Contribute desk review process to gather recent analysis, policies, reports conduced on GEWE in Uzbekistan in addition to national statistics – Provide strategic summaries of documents available only in Uzbek and/or Russian (around 15 summaries) – Translate documents from Uzbek to English (around 20 translations) – Conduct daily media scan of Uzbek news to be informed daily updates on GEWE in the country – Proofread/edit the final document for accuracy (around 75 pages) – Contribute 16 days activism to the extend possible – online, by sharing and advocating corporate messages (working on 10 social media post content)
