  1. Role and responsibilities

The Support Technical Assistant is responsible for day to day support and guidance to camp level on technical issues, provision of training and information sharing, monitoring of implementation minimum standards NRC NW Rakhine area.

Generic responsibilities 

These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.

  1. Adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  2. Ensure that all procurement processes are in compliance with Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and donor requirements
  3. Promote anti-corruption, transparency and cost efficiency focus in all processes
  4. Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment
  5. Receive supplies and ensure that they are in good condition and accompanied with correct documents
  6. Distribute/organize transport of material and equipment according to procedures, if necessary between offices
  7. Record stock in / out, maintain inventory list up to date all the time, and preparation of monthly stock movement
  8. All stock to be physically counted, submit physical account checks and reconciliation report when required
  9. Assist Area HR Officer and Admin Officer on HR/Admin related tasks when require
  10. Ensure all support related documents are updated and timely submission to Area Office NW

Specific responsibilities 

These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of program intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.

  • Assist Area Logistic Team in logistical tasks
  • Ensure procurement process, if require, at camp level are in compliance with NRC logistic policies and procedures
  • Manage goods receiving, stock in/out records, and inventory, and update timely
  • Assist programs with transportation of goods to targeted location
  • Respond fully and completely to spot checks on transactions to help NRC maintain transparency and accountability within logistics and procurement at camp level
  • Assist HR related tasks assigned by Area HR team
  • Assist Admin related tasks assigned by Area Administration Team
  • Communicate and collaborate with Camp Management Committee when require
  • Provide security related updates/information at camp level to Area SFP and Support Coordinator
  • Assist Support Officer and ICT Team for the asset and inventory management

  1. Competencies

Generic professional competencies for this position:

  • High School diploma, Bachelor Degree is preferable
  • Minimum 2 years working experience in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts like Rakhine is a bonus
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Adequate knowledge of support function is a bonus but not essential
  • Adequate working knowledge of English is required
  • Computer Knowledge and skill related to the post

Context related skills; knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of context in Rakhine
  • Knowledge of Rakhine and Rohingya Language is desirable
  • Working with similar position in other organization
  • Experience in working with partners organization
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
  • Capacity in learning
  • Security, political and cultural awareness
