Do you love helping people in need?
Are you passionate and eager with great people skills and would love a rewarding role where you feel you make a difference to someone’s day?
No professional experience? No problem!
If you can make someone feel comfortable and at ease then you’d be perfect as a Support Worker in our Health and Local Crisis Response team.
You will provide assistance to patients to enable them to be discharged in a safe and timely manner from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital. You will undertake non-medical tasks and make a patient feel as relaxed as possible. This will free up the medical staff to be able to focus on their clinical role.
A day in the life of a Service Support Worker, you will:
Act on referrals from Royal Shrewsbury Hospital to collect patients who are ready for discharge.
Provide transport to ensure patients can be discharged and taken home.
Transport medication or equipment for patients as required by the hospital.
Ensure patients are settled at home following hospital discharge. Collect prescriptions or shopping if required.
Signpost patients to relevant services following a hospital stay to help them regain their independence at home and reduce the risk of hospital re-admission.
To be a successful Service Support Worker:
Do you have a full UK manual driving licence held for a minimum of two years?
Do you have a knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care?
Are you thoughtful, caring and patient?
There is no personal care or administration of medication for this role.
Closing date for your application is 23.59 on Sunday 22nd October 2023.
In return for your dedication and expertise, you’ll get:
