Sustainability Project Manager (100%) – Temporary contract of 2 years
Role
The Sustainability Project Manager will be responsible for the effective management of ongoing projects under ISO’s environmental sustainability strategic priority. In close collaboration with the Sustainability Programme Manager, the project manager will ensure that the scope and the direction of each project are in line to ISO’s objectives, and that projects are delivered on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes.
The project manager must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse stakeholders and teams. This role is a unique opportunity for a culturally curious person, passionate about sustainability, with an interest to advance ISO’s ambitious sustainability objectives.
Key responsibilities
Direct Project Management (or support):
- Identify the project scope, and all the key elements necessary for getting a project approval (e.g. build a project proposal/charter, a business case or an ROI analysis)
- Plan and manage timeline, resources, risks and budget throughout the project life
- Adapt planning based on evolving needs, conditions or issues that may arise and ensure on-time, high-quality delivery in accordance with the stated project goals
- Produce and maintain the project management plan, and monthly reports for the PMO and the steering committees
Support the procurement process
- Write and executes against the communication plan, ensuring proper team and stakeholders management (provide status updates and identify and resolve issues) and customer’s feedback loop (value focus)
Additional activities:
- Partner with colleagues in different roles to assess the workloads and impacts for different departments, and identify dependencies and possible issues
- Give recommendations regarding resources allocation and mitigation plan
- Suggest, initiate and develop new project concepts to expand ISO’s environmental sustainability programme in new areas
Report to : Head of sustainability
Qualification and Experience
Project management:
- Proven experience as project manager (>3 years) or relevant position directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- PM training or related studies (PM certification is an asset)
- Knowledge of program management processes is an asset
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Detail-oriented and efficient
- Proficient in MS Office (or other project management tools) is an asset
Sustainability background:
- Experience in issues and challenges related to environmental sustainability and the achievement of the UN SDGs (>2 years)
- Understanding of the global environmental agenda landscape is an asset
General:
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study (management/social sciences/ international relations/ environmental management/ sustainable development or similar)
- English fluent or mother-tongue. Other languages are is an asset
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams and experience in international and cross-cultural settings
- Ability to effectively deal with complex information
