SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) is an international humanitarian aid association which, since more than 40 years, has been providing assistance to populations affected by armed conflicts and natural disasters by meeting their basic needs for food, water and shelter. Particularly committed to the fight against diseases linked to unsafe water, the leading cause of death in the world, SI’s interventions provide expertise in the field of access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene promotion, but also in the essential area of food security and livelihoods. Present in some twenty countries, the SI teams – 2500 people in total, made up of expatriates, national staff, permanent staff at HQ, and a few volunteers – intervene with professionalism and commitment while respecting cultural norms.
SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been working in Syria since 2012. The mission employs more than 350 staff and provides assistance to more than 1 million Syrians. The forecasted budget for 2023 is 25 million. There are 3 implementing offices in Syria (2 in Northeast Syria/NES, 1 in Northwest Syria/NWS) with the coordination based in Amman – Jordan and support colleagues in Erbil, KRI. In North-West Syria, main current activities are related to WaSH, FSL and shelter, WaSH rehabilitation, with nexus approach (emergency to early recovery and rehabilitation), with a particular focus on earthquake response.
Type and content of program:
Syria mission is dedicated to work in areas recently and in challenging contexts to provide lifesaving activities to the population affected by the conflict. A turn from lifesaving activities to more post-emergency/development has also been undertaken.

The position
The Deputy Field Coordinator for Programs (DFC-P) will manage and support the Project Managers for the implementation of SI’s intervention and projects, will ensure the relevance of the activities implemented in line with SI annual country strategy, and will propose new interventions in line with both this strategy and the evolution of the humanitarian situation in the area. The DFCO will pay specific attention to the development of innovative approaches and integrated strategies. The DFCO will help the FC to represent SI programs to partners and stakeholders

According to experience, starting from 2475 euros gross per month (2250 base salary + 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly) and a monthly Per Diem of 785 USD
SI also covers accommodation costs and travel expenses between the expatriate’s country of origin and the place of assignment.
Vacation:
During the assignment, a system of alternation between work and time off is implemented at the rate of on 7 working days every three months. For a one-year assignment, the expatriate will have a 7 working days break at 3/6 and 9 month.
To these break periods, it is necessary to add the granting of 1 additional rest day per month worked > i.e. 12 days in addition for a 1-year contract.
Social and medical cover:
Expatriates benefit from an insurance package which reimburses all healthcare expenses (including medical and surgical expenses, dental care and ophthalmological expenses, repatriation) and a welfare system including war risks. Essential vaccination and antimalarial treatment costs are refunded.
LIVING CONDITIONS:
Living conditions in Amman are very good with access to a wide range of restaurants and cafes. Most products (food, clothing…) are easily accessible in Amman.
The perdiem rate for Amman is 785 USD a month.
Specific constraints related to security:
Security in NWS can be volatile and prevents, together with administrative impediments, regular presence in the region. Adherence to strict security procedures is necessary, while the security levels can vary according to the different geographical locations and the changes of context.
In Amman, security risks are extremely low and restrictions are very limited.
