At the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), we are looking to create a talent pool of HR Specialists in Organizational Design and Job Evaluation. In this position you will support the Agency in developing job descriptions while applying the job classification methodology and standards of the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC).

In addition, you will provide job design support to the IAEA’s Departments to better address the staffing needs in a constantly evolving technical and scientific environment to develop attractive and inclusive job profiles for recruitment purposes.

As an HR Specialist in Job Classification, you may perform some of the following tasks:

  • On-demand review and evaluate job descriptions to determine the correct position level following the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) methodology and standards for job classification.
  • Conduct desk audits interviews to verify and/or solicit additional information about the job functions in the context of reclassification requests.
  • Prepare desk audit reports and confirm the content with incumbents and supervisors of the posts under review.
  • Issue classification recommendations following ICSC Master Standards for Professional and General Service staff, and prepare job evaluation reports with rationale, justifying the classification recommendation.
  • Validate position information and classification levels by ensuring the application of standard job profiles and established organizational structures.
  • Develop new job profiles and write tailored job descriptions to ICSC standards based on clients’ needs.

To apply for this position, you must have the following:

  • A first level degree in a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant job classification experience using the New ICSC Master Standards (SPECTRA).
  • Knowledge of the UN system and assignment of occupational groups (CCOGs).
  • Excellent project management and negotiation skills with a demonstrable ability to provide exceptional client service in a multicultural context.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with effective relationship-building and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex issues with diplomacy and tact.

If you are selected, the duration of activities where you may be engaged may vary from one-half day to multiple interventions over several weeks. Your activities will be designed and delivered on a case-by-case basis either home-based or in-person according to the identified needs. The IAEA does not guarantee any minimum of workdays under any contract which is offered.
