Result of Service

The focus of this position is to provide assistance to HR Section of ECLAC through a variety of tasks the team is involved in, including, HR processes, administrative, data analysis, reporting and general office tasks.
Is any other department or office of the Secretariat or any other organization of the United Nations involved in similar work to the best of your knowledge? Yes: All entities have their own Human Resources Section.

Work Location

“Home based” or “working remotely”: Hybrid, on-site + up to 2 working days as telework

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of the Human Resources Section, the individual contractor will be responsible for the following duties:

• Assists in the preparation, conduct and administration of the recruitment and selection processes, ;
• Assists in the recruitment of consultants and individual contracts;
• Assists in the organization and conduct of training courses and workshops;
• Compiles and prepares statistical reports on HR related issues;
• Supports research activities focused on HR data analysis related issues.
• Assists in the compilation of HR related data.
• Provides support to maintain databases containing HR related statistics and indicators.
• Provides general office support services; processes, drafts, edits, proofreads and finalizes for signature/approval, a variety of correspondence and other communications;
• Sets up and maintains files/records (electronic and paper); schedules appointments/meetings, monitors deadlines;
• Supports in organizing meetings, formulating agendas and planning presentations;
• Assists in the preparation of documentation and communication for distribution across ECLAC;
• Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as online pages, newsletters or brochures;
• Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications/special skills

Education: High school diploma is required. Technical or university studies Management, Human Resources, Data Science or Data Analysis and other related areas are desirable.
At least two years of experience in administrative tasks. HR or data analysis is required, Solid knowledge of MS Office 365 is required;
Experience in International Organizations is desired; Knowledge in data analysis and reporting, communication,and planning/organizing tools are desired.

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
