This post is located in the Division of Administration, Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), Human Resources Client Support Centre, United Nations Office at Geneva.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Human Resources Officer, the incumbent:
– Processes index number requests in Umoja, issues work attestations, and other HR service requests;
– Processes HR service requests received in iNeed and attempts to resolve requests submitted through the system;
– Escalates cases to the appropriate second and third level support, in accordance with established procedures;
– Screens phone calls and visitors; responds to moderately complex information requests and inquiries (e.g. answers requests requiring file search, etc.), and as necessary, refers inquiries to appropriate personnel for
handling;
– Contributes to the development of desk procedures and standard operating procedures for the work of the HR Client Support Centre;
– Monitors processes and schedules related the unit’s outputs, products, tasks, etc.; where applicable, assists in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, signatures, etc. to ensure
compliance with relevant requirements;
– Generates a variety of standard statistical and other reports, work orders, etc., using various databases;
– Assists in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate technology/software;
– Keeps abreast of Organizational rules, regulations and HR enterprise applications;
– Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making;
– Assists with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures;
– Assists with the organization of ceremonies, awards, and HR events;
– Performs other duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an administrative or general office support, or related area is required.
Experience working in the United Nations Common System is desirable.
Experience working in human resources or working in a help desk or service desk is desirable.
Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems and customer relationship management systems (i.e. IMIS, Umoja, iNeed, or similar) is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English and knowledge of French is required. Fluency in French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
Special Notice
• This position is available for a period of three (3) months, starting as soon as possible. Extensions may be possible provided continuation of need, availability of post and funds, as well as satisfactory performance.
