The program of Enteric and Respiratory Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division conduct research for multiple projects. This study will be conducted in the rural areas of Rajshahi and Bandarban districts. Several other studies are ongoing in the same areas in collaboration with scientists abroad. This project requires specific skills and knowledge of entomological data collection tools for some ongoing research on vectors.
Position description:
The Technical Assistant will report to the Research Officer and will be responsible for implementation of research activities with the objective of collecting relevant research information for creating knowledge within the guidelines of the research protocol and organizational values and guidelines. S/he will be involved in-
- Screening and trapping mosquitoes in accordance with the standard operating protocols;
- Work with FRAs in sorting mosquitoes and preserve those as per SOPs;
- Work with FRA during data collection for household survey and livestock census.
- Visit the households of the study participants if required;
- Maintain cleanliness of the office area including furniture and equipment;
- Maintain log sheets for all necessary documents;
- Keep track of logistics used in field sites.
Required qualification and experience:
- SSC pass or equivalent;
- 1 to 2 years experiences in relevant field;
- Basic understanding of mosquito trapping and screening.
- Candidates residents in Rajshahi/ Bandarban district will be preferred.
Location: Rajshahi and Bandarban districts
Contract Type and duration:
- Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 4 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Tk.25,316/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
