Located within the New Programmes and Services (NPS) Unit of the Programmes in Development (PRD) Department this position will ensure that the department has the relevant preparation and technical background to assess the feasibility and affordability of potential architectures, instruments, and systems for future meteorological satellite programmes against the evolution of user requirements.
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in an aerospace engineering discipline.
The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. For the post, candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.
Working knowledge of additional languages would be advantageous.

The Temporary Mission & Systems Studies Enngineer will work on a full-time basis. The role will be based at the EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Remote working will not be possible.
Interviews for this position will be held in English, followed by a work-related assessment also in English.
NB This is NOT a staff role. The successful candidate would be employed through a temp agency for the duration of the contract. Agency employment conditions will apply. Applicants will need to have the right to work in Germany. Visa or work permit support will not be provided.
The target start date is as soon as possible for the duration of 2 years (extension may be possible).
