1. Post Context/Post Summary
The J4 Division is responsible for logistic planning and supervision of logistic related activities within NATO Communications and Information Systems Group.
The Logistics Plans Branch is responsible for logistics planning and synchronization of logistic related activities within NCISG.
The incumbent is to support additional capability development and implementation of Non-CIS assets within NCISG to support the increased capability requirements of deployability and sustainability of Deployable Communications and Information Systems (DCIS) functions.
2. Principal Duties
The incumbent’s duties are:
– Coordinate logistics requirements in support of NCISG existing and future projects, supporting the development and implementation of the DCIS common funded requirements.
– Provide logistics support to NCISG Divisions and NSBs, and other relevant stakeholders to identify and review Non-CIS capability requirements, priorities, etc. for the development and implementation of DCIS projects as required.
– Manage the information related to Non-CIS projects implementation status and report to the Branch Head.
– Support the improvement the existing Non-CIS capabilities to fulfil the NCISG operational requirements.
– Monitor the status of Non-CIS projects related requirements and provides inputs for the validation of the delivery of goods and services.
3. Special Requirements and Additional Duties
The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract
The incumbent may be required to perform like duties elsewhere within the organisation as directed.
The incumbent may be required to undertake TDY assignments.
The work is normally performed in a Normal NATO office working environment / Secure office environment with artificial light and air (e.g. Bunker).

4. Essential Qualifications
a. Professional/Experience
1) Experience on coordinating staff work in a NATO or National Organization.
2) Experience as a multifunctional logistician serving as a logistic staff at division or below or as a support operations officer.
b. Education/Training
University Degree in logistics, transport or related discipline, or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 2 years post related experience.

c. Language
English – SLP 3333 – (Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing)
NOTE: The work both oral and written in this post and in this Headquarters as a whole is conducted mainly in English.
5. Desirable Qualifications
a. Professional Experience
1) Experience in resource management related to Non-CIS equipment/system projects.
2) Experience in NATO Capability Development process at the tactical, operational or strategic level of command.
b. Education/Training
1) PRINCE II Foundation/Practitioner qualification.
2) ITIL Foundation qualification.
3) NATO Logistics Introductory Course (LOG-LG-14422) provided by NATO – School Oberammergau (NSO)
4) NATO Logistics Operational Course (LOG-LG-24423) provided by NATO – School Oberammergau (NSO)
6. Attributes/Competencies
1) Personal Attributes: The incumbent must possess very good interpersonal and communication skills, as well as diplomacy and tact to perform the functions related to the post. The incumbent must be analytical and capable of long-term planning and able to use independent judgment and lateral thinking to contribute and formulate solutions to dissimilar problems in an environment of limited resource. The incumbent works in accordance with general NATO procedures and broad policy documents, without a specific pre-ordered course of action.
2) Professional Contacts: Regular professional contacts with others inside and/or outside immediate organisation on functional matters. Solicits/gives information and provides advice/guidance.
3) Contribution To Objectives: Work involves the provision of information or analysis of part of a task assisting others to take action within the organisation.
WHAT WE OFFER
1) 38 hours per week schedule;
2) 2.5 paid days of leave per month worked;
3) Fulfilling working atmosphere in an international and military community;
4) Contract period: a maximum of 12 months employment period could be offered, ideally from 1 Sep 2023 to 31 Aug 2024.
5) Salary: the remuneration of temporary personnel will be specified in their contracts. It is exempt from taxation in the Host Nation.
6) Benefits package: temporary personnel are covered by a benefits package which consists of an additional sum of 12% of basic salary for pension purposes basic medical and accident insurance provided under the NATO Group insurance contract (death and invalidity). The total premium for the medical and accident coverage in 2023 will be at 2.57% of the temporary staff member’s salary (2.32% for the medical benefits and 0.25% for accident), payable 1/3 by the temporary personnel and 2/3 by the Organisation.
7) For staff eligible under NATO rules, there is also a dependent child allowance and coverage for dependent children for medical benefits;
