Your responsibilities
You are a highly-motivated applied physicist, with experience of advanced particle-detectors for high-energy physics experiments.
You will join the CERN CMS Tracker team to participate in the integration of the Tracker detector for High-Luminosity LHC. Tracker sub-structures with silicon modules will be received and tested at CERN, and then integrated in larger assemblies, that will be validated with final powering and readout hardware, and two-phase CO2 cooling.
You will contribute to development, commissioning and operation of the test setups for the reception tests of the sub-structures, and for the validation and operation of large sections of the detector. The job will include contribution to the design, procurement and assembly of the hardware of the test setups, definition of test protocols and development of the required data acquisition and data analysis routines, and tools for production quality monitoring.

What we offer
About us
At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world’s largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter – fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.
