Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM) of the Human Resources Management Service, Division of Administration at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The incumbent reports to the Training Officer.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Staff Development Officer the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Training assistance: • Manages the technical aspects and contributes to the design, organization, and delivery of training and development programs. Provides general and technical support to the delivery of online language courses and other online workshops. Support to CLM staff: • Supports office staff in their daily work by using application software, primarily Microsoft Office 365 and other technologies. Manage CLM database and reporting: • Maintains the database for CLM, the Language Training Programme, (LTP), locally extracts data from Umoja BI, collects statistical data on training activities and responds to database queries and ad-hoc requests for information on training programmes. • Creates and maintains the preparation and monitoring of statistical reports from Inspira, Umoja (BI), for CLM, Human Resources Management Service (HRMS), and Umoja team. • Administers the systems for disseminating information to staff members on training, staff development opportunities, including distance learning, self-study, and other sources of learning. Manage and update web applications: • Develops and oversees the structure, creation, modification, and content updates of web applications, ensuring CLM-related websites are consistently updated with the latest information and documentation. • Implements the continuous improvement of the language enrolment system. • Manages the Moodle platforms used by the Language Teachers for language training in all UN official languages and UNOG Management & Communication. Manage Upgrading of Substantive and Technical Skills (USTS) budget: • Manages the budget for upgrading substantive and technical skills by overseeing funds allotted by UNHQ to CLM for external training of UNOG departments. Notifies departments of their available funds and collects and oversees their training plans. Other Duties: • Handles the payment of training fees, maintains up-to-date information, and regularly reports to UNHQ. • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of services. • Liaises with UNHQ Capacity Development and Operational Training Services (CDOTS) concerning Umoja training logistics and provides information to role-mapped staff members on how to complete their Umoja training Certification. • Performs any other duties, as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) 4 Certification IT Service Management Framework is desirable.
Work Experience
At least seven (7) years of experience in human resources, training, or administrative field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to five (5) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Experience in training, adult education, and/or multimedia training materials development is required. At least two (2) years of experience within the United Nations Common System or similar international organization is desirable. Experience in automation of services and producing reports using Structured Query Language (SQL) queries, Eloquent/Fluent Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), related to language and training courses is desirable. Experience with a Learning Management System as a developer or administrator is desirable. Experience in programming languages such as JavaScript (version ES6), specifically ReactJs, and Hypertext Processor (PHP 7.x) specifically Laravel Framework is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English and knowledge of French is required.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which will be followed by competency-based interview.
