Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Language Training Programme (LTP), Centre for Learning and Multilingualism (CLM) of the Human Resources Management Service (HRMS) in the Division of Administration (DA) at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The incumbent will report to the Training Officer.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Training Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: 1. Administration of the Language Learning Platform (Moodle): − Provide technical support to teachers and students, addressing questions and problems related to Moodle functionalities and plugins. − Coordinate with IT team for technical support and issue resolution. − Customize the platform interface and layout to align with the organization’s branding and user experience goals. − Assist teachers in setting up new courses, such as configuring course settings, themes, organizing content, and configuring course settings. − Create, modify, and manage user accounts for teachers and students. Assign appropriate roles and permissions. − Create user guides, tutorials, and documentation to assist teachers and students in navigating Moodle functionalities and provide training sessions on how to effectively use Moodle features. Provide continuous training and support to teachers as new functionalities are introduced. − Integrate external tools, plugins, and resources to enhance the functionality. Maintain and update the tools. − Ensure compatibility and seamless integration with the administrative platform. 2. Pedagogical support to teachers: – Assist in designing and maintaining learning content, such as elearning modules, language tests, job aids, and multimedia content including videos, interactive learning materials. Ensure that the content is engaging, interactive, and aligned with learning goals. – Provide logistical support for the organization and administration of tailor-made language courses. Assist the language team to determine the client’s needs and specific learning outcome of the tailor-made course, design the curriculum and evaluation system, select the appropriate instructional method, support the teachers to develop engaging content. – Guide interns and coordinate their tasks to provide optimal pedagogical support to teachers. 3. Communication and design: – In coordination with the language coordinator and the supervisors, prepare and update the content of all communication products, such as the website, administrative platform, and broadcasts, ensuring accuracy and quality in both English and French. – Proofread and revise French or English translation of communication products of CLM (broadcast, website, etc.) – Provide support to create visually engaging training materials and advertisement for the language learning platform, website, broadcasts, reports, presentations, etc. – Provide support in the organization and communication of external activities related to the promotion of multilingualism (language days for instance). – Assist with the production of ad hoc articles or communication products (for Iseek, UN Special, Annual Reports, etc.) 4. Administration of training activities and language tests – Manage and administer language tests. Collaborate with language experts to design test content and format; develop a variety of test items. Manage the test logistics and candidate registration. Compile test results and analyze test data. Communicate test results to candidates. – Provide assistance in the recruitment of interns for the LTP by preparing the job opening based on teachers’ needs, screening the candidates’ profiles and conducting the interviews. – Provide logistical support for the organization of summer language courses. – Organize the replacement of language teachers when absent. – Carry out other activities related to training administration when requested. 5. Data analytics – Produce surveys, statistics, and reports on learners’ results and evaluation. – Monitor the LTP dashboard and programme’s analytics. Make sure data is clean and error-free. – Gather regular feedback from users and stakeholders to continuously improve the learning experience. – Generate reports and analytics on the language learning platform (Moodle) user activity, course engagement, and other relevant data. – Identify trends and areas for improvement based on analytics data to better inform strategic decisions. 6. Other – Carry out other relevant tasks as required by the Training Officer in charge of the Administration of the LTP. – Act as back-up of the other LTP Training Assistant.

Work Experience
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in administrative or training field is required. The minimum years of relevant experience is reduced to three (3) for candidates who possess a first-level university degree or higher. Three (3) years within the UN Common System or a similar international organization is desirable. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office/Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is desirable. Experience in the use of learning management systems (LMS) is desirable. Experience in surveys, statistics and data analysis is desirable. Experience in designing training material is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of another official languages of the United Nations (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is desirable.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
