Your team

Within the Network Management Directorate, the Training Division and the EUROCONTROL Aviation Learning Centre (EALC) in Luxembourg support European aviation by providing a unique and best-in-class learning experience aimed at aviation professionals. They provide a wide range of online and in-person courses, tools and services. The aim is to add value to stakeholders in the EUROCONTROL Member States and beyond, with a constantly expanding learning portfolio delivered across multiple learning channels.

Your role

Your role will be to:

  • Act as Learning Zone (Training) platform’s business analyst: clarify and refine feedback, carry out requirements’ analyses; identify process issues and propose functional and technical improvements.
  • Design, develop, and coordinate deployment of software and change requests associated to the Learning Zone platform (e.g. new applications, evolutive and corrective maintenance, security changes, data management).
  • Analyse root cause of complex technical incidents, problems and interactions with 3rd party components; design and release corrective actions.
  • Oversee deliverables of other software developers (external suppliers).
  • Guide and train end-users on the use of the platform and ensure timely communication on new features.
  • Monitor technological evolutions and trends on training platforms and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and innovation.
  • Produce technical documentation, guidelines and training content associated to the Training Platform.
  • Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

  • Candidates must meet one of the following educational and experience criteria, where studies in relevant fields (e.g. Information Technology, System Engineering, etc) are needed.
    • University degree of at least three years followed by 7 years of relevant experience.
    • University degree of four years followed by 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in defining user requirements as software analyst.
  • Experience in support and operation of IT Systems in an ITIL environment.
  • Experience in web application development and maintenance in a .NET environment (i.e. C#, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Libraries).
  • Knowledge of system and information architecture in web applications (e.g. Webservers, API services, Version Control, Network, Security)
  • Experience in a training domain would be an asset
  • Analytical thinking: you analyse information and are able to identify relationships.
  • Problem solving: you anticipate and solve business issues.
  • Communication: you are able to foster two-way communication.
  • Customer focus: you adapt services to respond to customer needs.
  • Ability to work in a multinational and multicultural environment.

  • The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1/C2. The selected candidate will be required to become basic users of French at level A1/A2 before the end of the probation period. Knowledge of French at recruitment would be of an asset.
    The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

Useful information

  • The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 5 Year(s) and it may be renewed up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract pursuant to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. Before being established in the post, he/she will be requested to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months.
  • The successful candidate shall be engaged in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades.
  • Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
