JOB DETAIL

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 80 countries.

Do you have what it takes to be successful in this role?

  • University diploma or degree or equivalent in gender studies, disability studies, social sciences, international development, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and experience may be accepted.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in gender equality, disability inclusion, or social inclusion, preferably within an international development context.
  • Strong understanding of gender equality, disability rights, and social inclusion principles, frameworks, and international commitments.
  • Familiarity with the systems and its policies, programs, and operations of an international development context.
  • Experience in mainstreaming GEDSI considerations into project design, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of participatory approaches and tools for engaging marginalized groups.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver training, facilitate workshops, and conduct capacity-building activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of initiative and accountability.

Equality, diversity and inclusion is at the very heart of everything that Plan International stands for.
