PSI seeks a Vice President of Finance who will lead PSI’s accounting, financial reporting, and project financial management functions. You will provide strategic direction and financial oversight on global finance and accounting operations to support PSI’s mission and strategic plan. You will ensure PSI complies with global accounting policies; oversee global audits; report accurate financial data to donors, management, and the board; and provide appropriate financial oversight and support to PSI’s country, regional, and centrally funded program teams.

Salary Range:

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $191,000 – $239,000

For US-based candidates, the anticipated annual hiring range is reflected above.* The hiring range reflects the minimum to the midpoint of the job’s salary range. The full salary range for this job goes up to a maximum of $299,000, but hiring above the hiring salary range would not be typical in order to allow for potential future salary growth. Actual base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, experience, internal equity, external market analysis, and other business factors permitted by law. Your contributions

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations in close collaboration with PSI’s Controller. Ensure all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting, are effective. Responsible for all aspects of the organization’s negotiated indirect rates. Oversee annual external and donor audit function. Responsible for enterprise resource planning (ERP) conversion and improvements. Ensure records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. 25% of Time
  • Oversee all aspects of PSI’s Field Finance function including the coordination, preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual invoices and financial reports for donors of all projects. 25% of Time
  • Present critical financial matters at select Board of Directors and Executive Team meetings. Advise the Chief Financial Officer and other key members of senior management on financial planning and analysis; accounting and regulatory priorities; and policy matters. 25% of Time
  • Supervise and develop team members. Make recommendations concerning employment, termination, performance evaluations, salary actions, and other personnel actions. Set team and individual goals. Prioritize, organize, delegate, and coordinate the flow of work. Enhance individual employee performance through frequent and timely communication and support. 25% of Time

What are we looking for?

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Master’s Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 15 years of related experience, including at least 7 years of supervisory experience.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Experience in ERP conversion and management of complex financial systems.
  • Thought leadership in multiple financial disciplines including, but not limited to accounting, corporate finance, and financial analysis.
  • Ability to manage a high level of complex issues and multiple levels of the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of US Government regulations that impact financial policies, procedures, and programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of practical application of latest financial research and trends.
  • Excellent leadership, employee development, and management skills. Knows when to coach, when to advise, and when to provide specific direction related to multiple financial disciplines.
  • Excellent customer service, relationship building/management, and consensus building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • French and/or Spanish language skills preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
