Position Title: Vice President, Technology Location: Remote, USA – Washington DC Strongly Preferred Reports to: COO Winrock International is seeking a dynamic and strategic, Vice President, Technology to lead the planning and management of all Information Technology functions globally, ensuring the security and efficient scalability of Winrock’s technology infrastructure. The role is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s comprehensive IT strategy to foster a culture of innovation, improve operational efficiency using ERP, CRM and AI solutions, while securing Winrock’s data and systems. The VP, IT will oversee all aspects of technology, including infrastructure, systems architecture, digital solutions, network security, disaster recovery planning, and management of all IT service providers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT leadership with expertise in ERP design and deployment, CRM systems, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity best practices. The VP will have experience working for international firms and familiarity with U.S government IT standards and regulations. They will bring a passion for leveraging technology to further Winrock’s mission to improve lives, empower communities, and sustain natural resources. This role may be remote within the United States but will be required to work East Coast hours as Winrock’s core operations are based in Manila, Nairobi, Washington DC & Arkansas. Candidates located in the DC Metro area will be strongly preferred. This position is not eligible for sponsorship, candidates without authorization to work in the United States will not be considered.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES IT Strategy & Leadership: Develop Winrock’s IT vision and strategy ensuring alignment with Winrock’s mission, strategy, compliance, operational needs. Establish and maintain an IT governance framework that aligns with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. This includes defining policies, procedures, and standards to ensure effective management of IT resources, risk, and compliance. Lead and mentor the IT team to ensure the smooth execution of new initiatives and effective management of our IT solutions and infrastructure. Stay informed of emerging technologies, government compliance needs and trends, proactively assessing how they can support Winrock’s strategic goals. Budget & Resource Management: Manage the global IT team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence and accountability and promote the professional growth of team members. Develop and manage the IT department budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Optimize technology investments and manage vendor relationships and contracts to achieve business objectives. Cybersecurity: Develop and implement comprehensive information security policies, procedures, and controls. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards, including data privacy laws, and provide necessary training to staff globally on cybersecurity best practices. Develop and implement tools for threat analysis, vulnerability management, incident response, and recovery plans. Establish and maintain an incident response plan to address security breaches effectively. Manage recovery efforts following security incidents to minimize impact on operations. Infrastructure & Operations: Assess and strengthen IT infrastructure implementation, and maintenance to support Winrock’s global operations, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security. Manage global networks, servers, cloud services, and databases to ensure high availability and performance. Lead efforts in disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and risk management for IT systems. Manage the helpdesk services ensuring quick response time and effective resolutions to requests. Collaborate with various departments to ensure systems meet operational and reporting needs. Systems & Data Management: Work across the organization with stakeholders to ensure the seamless integration and optimization of enterprise applications, data management systems, and business intelligence tools. Lead the design, development and procurement of new IT solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our processes. Oversee the upgrade and management of digital platforms, including AI/ML, ERP, CRM, and other cloud computing applications to enhance organizational efficiency.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Experience: 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles, including experience in managing a global IT department, design and deployment of ERP and other enterprise solutions, management of global IT infrastructure and cybersecurity. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in IT governance and current and emerging technologies including AI, ML, ERP, CRM, Azure and Power BI. Strong expertise in cybersecurity and best practices in risk management, data protection, and compliance with relevant legal frameworks. Extensive experience in designing and managing a global IT operations, including networks, servers, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity systems. Experience working in countries/regions with poor internet infrastructure. Demonstrated experience in leading global IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, new IT solutions and implementation of cybersecurity protocols. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and enterprise systems architecture. Proven ability to lead and inspire diverse IT teams, including remote and global staff. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple initiatives. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and present complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in international development setting and government contracting is highly preferred. Experience with CostPoint is highly desirable.

Language: English Required Travel: A minimum of two to three trips required annually, may be domestic or international The salary range for this role is set between $230,000 and $260,000, with the majority of candidates typically landing within the midpoint of this range, there is an additional 10% contribution for a 403b annually and an excellent benefits package.
