Description

Video Production Coordination Officer, Digital and Print Products and Channels Office, Products and Channels Division, Communication Department, Director General’s Services.

Under the direct authority of the Head of the Digital and Print Products and Channels Office, you will be responsible for the development and management of ESA Communication video production and its distribution through relevant channels.

Duties

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • managing, either through external contracts or internally, the production of:
    • videos corresponding to the highest professional standards for the broadcasting and multimedia world;
    • live web streaming and videos to cover a variety of ESA’s activities, including launch campaigns, spacecraft development, strategic milestones and media briefings. You will also be responsible for their distribution across multiple channels;
    • videos to convey the Agency’s corporate and high-level messaging. You will also be responsible for their distribution across multiple channels;
  • ensuring that video content is planned and published in close alignment with input received from the various services and stakeholders;
  • overseeing the coordination, production and distribution of videos and web streaming content from both internal and external resources;
  • assessing the evolving multimedia landscape and developing strategies to keep ESA’s video content, production process and distribution up to date with industry standards;
  • managing, as an interface with the relevant Department units and with the ESA Legal Services Department, the distribution, copyright/licensing and archiving of videos both for the general public and for professional use;
  • developing concepts, storyboards and scripts for video productions as required;
  • conducting interviews and acting as on-screen representation of the Agency as required.

Finally, you will ensure correct application of the Agency’s brand and reflect, as appropriate, its corporate visual identity in all videos developed under your responsibility.

Education

A master’s degree in a relevant domain is required for this post.

Additional requirements

You should have proven communication and writing skills and a strong aptitude for relationship management, together with demonstrated planning, organisation and problem-solving skills. You should be result-oriented, with demonstrated ability and experience in video production and broadcast/web streaming technology.

You should be able to work well under pressure to tight deadlines, with flexibility to adapt to new and unforeseen demands and availability to be on standby for work in specific crisis situations.

Excellent knowledge of ESA, its programmes, and the Communication Department’s mandate and role, would be an asset.

Important Information and Disclaimer
In principle, recruitment will be within the advertised grade band (A2-A4). However, if the selected candidate has less than four years of relevant professional experience following the completion of the master’s degree, the position may be filled at A1 level.

During the recruitment process, the Agency may request applicants to undergo selection tests.
