About the position
Alliance is seeking to recruit a Climate Action Intern. The intern will work with the Climate Action team, supporting implementation activities for “Accompaniment and strengthening of capacities for the provision of climate services and CSA in agriculture in the north of Nicaragua.–“
The intern will support several activities that will lead to the development of high-quality data and reports, including offering administrative support.
The position will be based in Managua, Nicaragua.
Key Responsibilities
Assisting in development of 20 constructed micro-wetlands as an CSA practice.
Field trips for monitoring at local communities.
Collecting data and samples for water quality.
Assisting interviews with key informants on water reuse for agriculture in small farms or backyards.
Assisting in identifying relevant priority interventions based on project objectives.
Assisting in the development of project report(s).
Collecting data on the costs and benefits associated with implementing reuse of water.
Assisting in conducting desktop and literature review.
- Supporting any other project-related activities as required.
Requirements
Requirements
A Master or Ph.D. student in agricultural and/or natural resources.
Knowledge of constructed micro wetlands and water reuse in agriculture.
Knowledge of agriculture, climate change and related environmental issues.
Experience in conducting literature review and stakeholder interviews.
Excellent knowledge of the Spanish language, both written and spoken.
Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Proficient in using statistical software such as Excel, Stata, R, or Python to clean, analyze, and visualize data.
Ability to conduct research to collect relevant data and information from various sources such as literature reviews, interviews, and surveys.
Be able to manage their time effectively and work efficiently under deadlines.
Be able to work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders to achieve project goals.

This is an internship position based in Managua, Nicaragua. The agreement will be for period of five (5) months.
