About the position
The unit of Performance, Innovation, and Strategic Analysis for Impact (PISA) is looking for a student finishing a master’s in the field of ECONOMICS, AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS, or related fields, with experience in managing and analyzing databases using statistical programs such as STATA or R, and with technical writing skills. Experience in the agricultural field will be an advantage, as well as experience in survey implementation. The student will lead certain activities and collaborate on other activities, as detailed below.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a systematic search of relevant academic journals, reports, and other publications on the history and functioning of agroclimatic bulletins in Vietnam.
Maintain a well-organized database of all researched literature, including articles, books, and reports, ensuring all sources are accurately cited.
Assist in the design of survey tools and questionnaires that effectively gather data relevant to the study.
Conduct surveys, ensuring ethical research practices and data accuracy.
Manage and monitor data collection activities, potentially including training and supervising other surveyors.
Assist in preparing progress reports and the final research report.
Draft sections of the research paper, particularly those related to literature review findings and survey results.
Regularly update the supervisor and research team on progress and any challenges encountered in the research process.
Requirements
Required qualifications and experience.
Student in the final semesters of economics, agricultural economics, or a related field, at the master’s level.
Demonstrable experience in handling complex databases, at the individual or household level, using STATA and R. This includes data collection, data cleaning, and descriptive and econometric analysis.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite software programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Proficiency in English and Spanish. Being bilingual will be an advantage.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite software programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) , data collection tools (ODK, Survey CTO etc) and statistical software (R, Stata, etc.)
Demonstrable experience producing technical reports. Publications in peer-reviewed journals will be an advantage.
Experience in gender research in agriculture will be an advantage.
Experience in climate change action research will be an advantage.
Availability for travel.

The selected individual will receive a stipend for their expenses. Depending on the performance, availability, and interest of the selected individual, as well as the availability of funds, the engagement period may be extended.
