Within the General Services Division (GES) the Facility Services Team is responsible for managing key organisational services such as Site Security, Catering / Canteen Services, Health & Safety, Insurance, Office Supplies, Cleaning, Gardening and further Facility Services including the small fleet of business cars.
Reporting to the Facility Services Manager, the Facility Services Coordinator’s tasks cover mainly the management of site security and site access, fleet management, campus services and in addition ensures together with the team a constant delivery of General Services activities. This includes occasional duties as chauffeur.
The mission of GES is to ensure the proper and smooth running of the Headquarters Buildings and their related facilities, including provision of technical and general infrastructure services across the entire organisation, which includes large technical departments a satellite control centre and office accommodation across several buildings.
The main responsibilities cover the management of site security and site access, fleet management and campus services.
A full secondary school education and appropriate certified professional qualifications in business administration / technical facility management / Security or equivalent;
EU Class B driver licence (clean drivers record).
The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. For the post, candidates must be able to work both effectively in English and, due to interactions with local service providers, in German.

The initial contract will be of 4 years’ duration, with subsequent 5 year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of follow-up contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT.
This post is graded B3/B5 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 4759 per month (net of internal tax but excluding pension contribution and insurances) which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
